1969 CL 175 TANK...
The red accents on the badges are actually red "permanent magic marker"...perfect match to the pinstripe..and much easier to apply than paint in the tiny areas needed... |

All paint work was done with RUSTOLEUM spray cans from Wall Mart...then clear coated with RUSTOLEUM clear.....

Any blemishes that appear to be in these pics are reflections...actually the parts came out much better than i anticipated...having never done this before..and shooting outside in the back yard.. |

Two tone paint was my idea..
The silver is actually what RUSTOLEUM calls "metallic white"...black pinstriping tape was used to seperate the colors, with red pinstripe tape placed down the center. Once tape was in place, tank was coated with six coat of clear to seal the stripes in...

Both colors have very fine metallic properties...you could see tiny flakes floating the in air and reflected in the sunlight as i sprayed.. |

Rear tire and front are believed to be original. New tube in rear, to be safe, the front should be updated also...

Right hand view...
This was a resto i did last year. The bike was 99% original..just needed a detailing and side covers painted to match the tank. The color is Honda's blue sapphire metallic...i found the exact match at Wall Mart in the model car section..testors sapphire blue metallic in 3oz spray cans....love it when it works !!! |
